spotlight fabricHaberdashery chain, Spotlight, will open the doors to its first store in Malaysia at the Ampang Point Shopping Centre in July 2014.

Spotlight, which has 117 stores located in Australia, New Zealand and Asia, will occupy 2000sqm of retail space at Ampang Point and will stock more than 150,000 products in six categories, many of which have never been seen in Malaysia before.

The opening is the first of what is planned to be many stores planned for Malaysia.

“This first store in Malaysia is rapidly taking shape and we’re confident it will become a creative hub for home interiors, fashion design, parties and hobby crafts,” said Roy Sammartino, GM of Spotlight.

“There’s no where like it in Malaysia and we are certain that the market here will enjoy this unprecedented shopping experience,” he said.

The new store will feature home furnishings, bedding, home decor, dress and fashion fabrics, and craft, hobby, and party essentials. Given that many of the products stocked at Spotlight are exclusive in Malaysia, key store staff will undergo training in Singapore to ensure their product knowledge is extensive.

“Staff development is an integral part of Spotlight’s business activity and the company is committed to providing all staff with extensive training to bring customers valuable product knowledge and advice,” said Sammartino.
