Stockland to expand Bundaberg retail precinct

Stockland Kensington_Artist ImpressionRetail landlord, Stockland will expand its Bundaberg retail precicnt in Queensland with the official opening of its  Kensington centre on April 8.

The $30 million Stockland Kensington retail development, located adjacent to Stockland Bundaberg will be anchored by a full-line, 4,500sqm Coles supermarket with an instore bakery, a healthy living section and a gourmet delicatessen featuring a decadent cheese wall. The Reject Shop and Liquorland will also open.

The new shopping centre will  include Sushi Bay, Bundy Rice & Noodles Asian Takeaway, with a local bakery, café and an additional two food tenants to join the centre in the coming months. An Ella Bache beautician will open at the centre with Kensington Palace nail bar also to open at the end of the month.

“The new Stockland Kensington shopping centre will offer the very latest and greatest Coles supermarket design and fit out as well as a diverse mix of retailers offering greater customer convenience for everyday needs,” said Peter Cocking, Stockland Kensington centre manager.

“We look forward to offering the people of Bundaberg greater convenience and more choice in their retail needs,” Cocking said. “Stockland Kensington will provide the perfect place for the weekly grocery shop, or as a place to meet, eat, and socialise with family and friends.”

Construction on Stockland Kensington commenced in July last year and has generated 73 jobs over the construction period. The centre is also expected to create around 70 new, local retail jobs for the region.
