Targeting North Queensland

TargetTarget will open two new-look stores this Thursday in Cairns Central and Stockland Cairns Shopping Centres as part of the retailer’s rollout of its next generation of stores.

Target has opened eight new stores and undertaken eight refurbishments across the country over the last 12 months.

The Cairns Central store includes new features with a modern café, digital photo kiosk, in store alteration service, tee shirt printing station, and kids play zone. Both stores will see the introduction of ‘click and collect’ shopping services and a modern, easy-to-navigate store layout.

Tim Kemp, state GM for Queensland, believes the next generation Cairns stores will streamline the shopping experience for customers in the region.

“We’re excited to bring our new look stores to customers in North Queensland. Cairns is a huge focus for Target and we are proud to be investing so heavily in this thriving area. Shoppers are increasingly time-poor so it’s crucial that we make the shopping experience more seamless and more enjoyable than ever,” said Kemp.

“Both of the new stores integrate the best customer service with innovative new digital advancements. For example; customers can shop online and then drop by the store to pick up purchased items with our new click and collect service.”

The new-look stores will both open at 9am. Target Stockland Earlville is located in Stockland Cairns Shopping Centre and the new Cairns store is located in Cairns Central Shopping Centre.
