Uniqlo arrives in Brisbane

Uniqlo brisbaneJapanese clothing giant, Uniqlo, opened the doors to its first Queensland store today in the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.

The store attracted a queue of more than 300 customers and the first shoppers were welcomed into the store by traditional Japanese drummers.

The store is the retailer’s eighth in Australia since entering the market in April 2014.

To celebrate the occasion, Shoichi Miyasaka, CEO of Uniqlo Australia, was joined by Leah Mienert, GM of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and other honourary guests for a formal ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the store.

“We are excited to have opened our first Uniqlo store in Queensland. Queensland was the next logical step for Uniqlo’s expansion across Australia,” Miyasaka said.

The Uniqlo store in Indooroopilly Shopping Centre will be followed by a second Brisbane store in Queen Street Mall, due to open early next year.

“Uniqlo is an international fashion retailer offering great quality, functionality and affordability and we’re excited to be able to bring this to our customers,” said Mienert.

“The opening of Uniqlo at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre further reinforces the centre as one of Brisbane’s leading fashion and retail destinations.”
