Uniqlo reveals newest store location

Uniqlo brisbaneJapanese fashion giant, Uniqlo, will open a new store at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach in mid-2016.

The store will be Uniqlo’s third in Queensland, following openings in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall and Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, and its 11th Australian store.

The 993sqm Pacific Fair store will create more than 60 jobs for those in the local area, the company says.

“We’re excited to open our doors to Gold Coast customers following the successful response to our brand at Indooroopilly,” said Shoichi Miyasaka, CEO of Uniqlo Australia. “The new Pacific Fair store will continue to help make our functional and affordable clothing more accessible to Australians across the country.”

The opening is part of a $670 million redevelopment of the Gold Coast centre that commenced in January 2014.

Bryan Hynes, MD of AMP Capital Shopping Centres, welcomed the Japanese retailer to the Gold Coast community.

“The Pacific Fair redevelopment will provide residents and travellers with a world-class shopping experience on the sunny coast of Queensland,”Hynes said. “We’re thrilled to welcome Uniqlo to the centre and see this announcement as a testament to the caliber of retailers the Pacific Fair development is attracting.”

Uniqlo will open its fifth NSW store at Westfield Chatswood on February 18 as part of its ongoing Australian expansion.
