Unilqlo announced it will expand into The Glen Shopping Centre as part of the centre’s $460 million redevelopments.

The store will be the retailer’s sixteenth store in Australia and the sixth store in Victoria.

“We are excited to welcome Uniqlo to The Glen Shopping Centre later this year as part of our redevelopment and new fashion precinct,” said Richard Devlin, centre manager of The Glen.

“Strengthening our offering of food, lifestyle and fashion with local and international retailers such as Uniqlo, will provide locals with a revitalized shopping experience.”

“The opening of our sixth Victorian store demonstrates our commitment to local customers, by finding the right locations to showcase our products and make them accessible to all,” said Uniqlo Australia’s chief operating officer Kenji Tsuki.

The store will span 832 square meters and create more than 50 jobs for the local region.

The Glen was announced last year to be undergoing a $490 million transformation to create a local lifestyle and community destination that will integrate retail, dining, and entertainment.

The New Glen is expected to be completed by early 2020 and will be developed in stages over three years.
