Retail veteran, Bill Wavish, has resigned as a director of Dick Smith.

A former Woolworths executive and Myer chairman, he has been a director of Dick Smith since its sale by Woolworths in November 2012, and was instrumental in poaching Dick Smith CEO, Nick Abboud, from Myer to lead the business.

“His guidance and support was instrumental in the speed and sustainable success of our transformation,” Abboud said of Wavish.

“I would like to thank Bill for his contribution during the turn around and as a listed company and wish him well in his future endeavours,” he said.
