West Elm moves into department store
Positioned on the third floor of the the retailer’s Oxford St location, the store will showcase five lifestyle rooms featuring a range of products including furniture, accessories, and accent pieces. It will be open to the public from September 3.
The move is a coup for the company, whose products will be available outside of its own stores for the first time.
John Lewis, whose Oxford St flagship has undergone recent renovations, has allocated 821sq feet (approximately 76sqm) for the store, and says it is excited about the partnership.
“We are proud and delighted to be able to partner with West Elm to bring their uniquely styled furniture and accessories to the UK High St. We are confident that John Lewis customers will embrace the West Elm proposition and have allocated 821sq ft in our new Oxford Street flagship home department in order to really bring the West Elm aesthetic to life,” said Christine Kasoulis, John Lewis buying director.
Williams-Sonoma currently operates 13 stores in Australia, inclusive of its Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, and West Elm brands.
