Willow founder returns to fashion

kitwillowAustralian fashion designer and founder of Willow, Kit Willow Podgornik, is making a return to the fashion world, two years after Apparel Group ousted her from the label she started.

Podgornik’s new fashion line, KITX, will be available in stores later this year and features women’s ready to wear and footwear. There are also plans for a standalone KITX boutique and an online store.

Podgornik founded Willow in 2003 and sold the brand to Apparel Group, owner of Sportscraft, Saba, and Jag, in 2011. In 2013, Podgornik was fired as creative director, and later settled outside of court with the fashion group.

“KITX is born from a spirit of Kindness, Integrity, Transparency, and X representing the future,” Podgornik said.

“Staying true to these key words and harnessing and inspiring the passion and talent of our team, we are focused on creating unique designs our customers love to wear, while caring about the impact every decision has on the planet and the people around us,” she said.
