Winning Appliances shakes up management amid strong growth

winning-appliances-kingston-showroomWinning Appliances has brought on Bang & Olufsen ANZ general manager Julian Kipping as its new head of retail as it looks to gain further momentum in the highly-competitive household appliances category.

Kipping joins Winning Group after 20 years at Bang & Olufsen, during which time he oversaw a turnaround of the premium audio retailer and began opening a new format of experience-focused concept stores.

Also joining Winning Appliances is former Fisher & Paykel retail marketing & trade activations manager Siegfrid Bacani, who will serve as the retailer’s head of environment, responsible for in-store experience.

Winning Appliances’ Head of Retail for Queensland Clara Hinch will also move to Sydney for a new role as Winning Appliance’s head of partner engagement as part of the management shake-up, which comes at a time of growth for the veteran retail brand.

Winning Group chief executive John Winning revealed on Tuesday that the business had achieved a 22 per cent increase in sales year-on-year (y/y) in April, with a net promoter score of 76.7.

April caps off a strong start to the year for Winning after the busiest January in its 112-year history and a 25 per cent y/y increase in sales over the December holiday period.

Online only business Appliances Online is also performing well, Winning has said, achieving net promoter scores in excess of 80 in January.

Winning said the appointments would build on the strong growth the business had already experienced.

“The appliance market in Australia is growing and we believe that offering exceptional shopping experiences from the minute someone steps into a store, right through to delivery, installation and after sales service is key to gaining customer loyalty”, Winning said.

“As our company mission is to provide the best shopping experience in the world, these appointments ensure that we are connecting with our customers at every touch point,” he said.

Correction: Clara Hinch was Winning Appliance’s head of retail for Queensland, not the head of retail for Winning Group.
