Winning creates “new kind of luxury”
The founder of the Winning Group, John Winning, has just added a new publishing arm to his business and launched a luxury lifestyle print magazine covering news and features across travel, health, wellness and architecture.
Named Winning, the print publication will be available in 2500 newsagents across the nation, with plans to offer subscriptions next month. Selected stories from the magazine will also be published online. The title will not be on sale in Winning Appliances stores, as the magazine is “a luxury brand in its own right” although there will be a few copies in our working kitchens for people to read and get inspired, while they are having a coffee or a tea,” Winning said.
“From a young age I was taught by my parents that working hard is a foundation for life, not because it will afford you things, but because it makes you appreciate things. Like for many people, time outside my professional life is precious. So when I do have time to pursue experiences, I want to know the where, what and how to spend it in a way that will elevate, evolve and challenge me,” Winning explained.
“So for me, luxury today is life’s pursuit to make the every day exceptional, exhilarating and timeless. Something I think many people can relate to.
“I have a passion for creating an experience of luxury everyday. I wanted to challenge myself and the team to do something different and to produce a magazine that inspires a new kind of luxury, one which doesn’t exist in the market. Winning is a timeless publication to inspire people to create and share luxurious adventures and experiences in and out of the home,” he said.
“As with all the Winning Group businesses, the team and I are constantly focused on providing an exceptional customer experience, and for me it was a good challenge to deliver this in a new format and see it come to life,” Winning told Inside Retail Weekly.
“Winning truly is a passion project and is ably led by our editor, Katarina Kroslakova, who has over two decades of experience as a journalist with luxury and leisure titles.”
Meanwhile, the Winning Group, which owns several brands including Appliances Online and Winning Appliances, is on track to ending its most successful year on record, “with sales growth for Winning Group at almost 20 per cent for April (year on year) and our current net promoter score for the group of over 80”, said Winning.
The first Winning Appliances Victorian flagship showroom is set to open in the third quarter of the year (“our best showroom to date”), while a new 14,000sqm purpose-built distribution centre in Kewdale, Perth, has also just opened.
“Following strong growth for the group, where sales in Western Australian were up 56 per cent for the month of March, year on year, our new Kewdale distribution centre has 22 loading docks and over 3000 rack locations, allowing our business to continue to expand at a rapid rate.”
