Winning Group takes podium

Family owned, Australian retail entity, the Winning Group, has announced the group experienced sales in excess of $350 million for the year ending 30 June 2013.

The company’s retail chain, Winning Appliances, reported $150 million in sales and 17 per cent year on year growth, while its e-commerce platforms, Appliances Online, and Big Brown Box,  saw sales in excess of $150 million and 35 per cent year on year growth.

John Winning, CEO of the Winning Group and Appliances Online, said the strong results, which mark Winning Appliances and Appliances Online’s biggest years on record, demonstrate the group’s growing position in the appliance retail market.

“These figures highlight our growing market share, especially within the online space,” Winning said.

“The results also mark a significant milestone for my family’s century old business Winning Appliances, which experienced its biggest year on record with sales from the nine showrooms exceeding $150m. This performance demonstrates that shopfront retail thrives when you listen to your customers and innovate.”

In the past two years, Winning Appliances has opened two new Queensland showrooms and recently relaunched its flagship Redfern showroom in Sydney.

“While the Group consists of offline and online entities, the single thread that ties our solid performances together is our focus on providing exceptional customer service. Being family-owned and run, we have the agility to innovate and implement new initiatives for our customers.

“To ensure we keep our service promise to customers we have invested in a 24/7 Australian based customer support centre and a national distribution network of trucks and warehouses.

“The debate between online versus offline is over – Australian retailers must perfect their business formula across all platforms to earn the trust and repeat business from savvy shoppers. The now customer needs to be engaged with a thoughtful and world-class approach. We look forward to continuing to pioneer new ways to interact with our customers.”
