Kmart will this week commence work on the construction of its Port Macquarie site.
Inside the 6600sqm complex, located on the corner Park and Walters streets, the new Kmart store layout will have wider aisles and bolder graphics to make navigating the area easier. The store will stock apparel for men, women and children, toys, health and beauty products, homewares, stationery, and sporting goods. About 1000sm of specialty retail space will be for lease in the centre.
Construction is expected to be completed by the middle of next year. Quasar Constructions has been appointed contractor for the project, with the town’s community, development, environment, pedestrian and traffic improvements all having been considered in the design.
Kmart COO, Ian Bailey, said Kmart Australia is looking forward to starting the construction process of Kmart Port Macquarie to support the local community. Kmart Australia will start the recruitment process for its Port Macquarie site early next year.Kmart has more than 190 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
