Zara hits 10
Zara will open its first store in Western Australia at AMP Capital’s Garden City shopping centre in August.
The Garden City store will be the retail giant’s tenth for the Australian market, and will house its full line of women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing.
The announcement follows the WA Planning Commission’s approval for AMP Capital to redevelop and expand Garden City centre by 48,000sqm.
AMP Capital’s proposed $750 million redevelopment of the centre, which will see it grow to 120,000sqm in size, will be the largest shopping centre development to be approved in WA.
Zara follows in the footsteps of UK fashion giant, Topshop, who confirmed last year it would be opening its first store in Perth at the freshly renovated Carillon City in late 2014.
The two storey 2200sqm flagship will house both Topshop and Topman and receive 300 new products weekly.
Zara first opened in Australia in Sydney 2011, and is now present in 86 markets with 2000 stores worldwide.
The fashion brand is owned by the Inditex Group, one of the largest fashion retailers in the world with more than 6200 stores in five continents. In addition to Zara, Inditex has seven other brands, Pull and Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home, and Uterqüe.
